The competition between liquid staking protocols is heating up as Ethereum is preparing to transition from proof-of-work (PoW) to proof-of-stake(PoS). Liquid staking allows a token holder to stake their asset and receive a derivative of the token that will accrue rewards overtime. This derivative also gives the owner the ability to participate in defi activities such as borrowing and lending and vault strategies while improving liquidity for the overall ecosystem.
The Cosmos ecosystem’s delegated proof of stake model has been thriving and a number of different liquid staking protocols are in development. Quicksilver aims to be the number one liquid staking platform in the ecosystem leveraging Interchain Accounts, Interchain Queries, Governance by Proxy and decentralization at its core.
Airdrops in the Cosmos ecosystem are somewhat common throughout the interchain’s life cycle. Quicksilver is preparing to launch one of the largest airdrops in the Cosmos ecosystem’s history with over 50% of its genesis supply reserved for airdrop participants, meaning eligible users will receive over 100,000,000 QCK tokens!
Quicksilver’s airdrop is unique in the fact that it will not be a one time drop. At genesis, the airdrop will reward ATOM, OSMO and JUNO eligible stakers. Going forward, every network Quicksilver onboards will receive an airdrop of QCK. This means a network still in development phase, testnet or even one that has yet to be conceived will have the opportunity to be rewarded with QCK tokens. Structuring the airdrop in this way will incentivize developers and community members for years to come throughout the ecosystem.
In order to avoid gaming the airdrop, the team will factor in several metrics to determine the amount of QCK each participant will receive. These factors include the number of tokens staked, governance participation and decentralization of the native network.
How to Claim your QCK Airdrop:
Recipients will need to complete tasks in order to claim their full airdrop allocation. While 5% of airdropped QCK will be claimable instantly, to unlock the full amount, users will need to:
- Stake QCK tokens to unlock 10% of the Airdrop
- Signal intent on the Protocol to unlock 5% of the Airdrop
- Liquid Stake Assets on the protocol to unlock up to 52.5% of the Airdrop
- Participate in Governance on the Quicksilver chain to unlock 10% of the Airdrop
- Provide Liquidity with your qAssets on a DEX to unlock 17.5% of the Airdrop
Quicksilver is anticipating the mainnet launch on Monday, September 5. We will be doing an in-depth look at QCK’s tokenomics later in the month. For more information on Quicksilver, head over to their twitter for the most current information!
